Thanks for joining us here at ABL!

Would you like to know a little about us? Of course you would! That’s why you’re here, right?

Well, we don’t want to disappoint, so here’s what you came for, friend:

Awesome Breakup Letters is from the creators of The Weekly Argus. If you aren’t familiar with TWA, don’t feel bad. True, you’re missing out on some great takes on pop culture, but that is no reason to question your belief in God, science, Satan, Numa, or whatever you happen to put your faith in.

This was originally going to be a section of TWA, but I felt the idea warranted its own page. Probably because it was my idea and I’m just biased like that.

At any rate, though, I got this idea one night when I realized something: breakups are hilarious. The things people say and do can be downright comical at times, and the passive aggressive breakups are the best. You know the type. Somebody beats around the bush while mixing in insults and hints that they shouldn’t see each other anymore until finally after minutes (or hours) of confusion, she finally blurts out that she hates her partner and she hopes his life turns into an array of terrible, depressing events and that she was always lying she said he was “above average.”

Once I realized how funny breakups are, I searched the Internet for a site dedicated to showing the best breakup letters, and I was horrified by what I found–no such site exists!

Instead of crawling into the fetal position and wondering if life was even worth living, I took initiative–I would compile a collection of breakup letters and display them on my own site.

Needless to say, as a handsome, witty, charming man, I don’t have any of my own, but do not fear–this site will not suffer. There will be a plethora of letters when it is all said and done.

I plan on putting up at least 2 or 3 new letters every week, but knowing me, I’ll probably fall behind on that goal, so if you have any of your own that you’d like to share, I welcome them!

I guess that’s it!

Happy reading, friend!
